Anyone. All are welcome. EIEJC is completely non-partisan and non-sectarian, and dedicated solely to improving our community and the education of our children.
DEI rejects the concept that “all men are created equal” as found in the Declaration of Independence. DEI is propaganda, racial, divisive, and untrue historically. Diversity really means discrimination against non-preferred groups. Equity means rewarding certain individuals because of their identity instead of their ability. Everyone gets the same reward whether they earned them or not. Inclusion means you accept those who agree with the DEI philosophy, while rejecting those who don’t agree with the philosophy. And “inclusive excellence,” the latest buzzword, really means “not excellent.” Excellence is an earned reward resulting from talent and hard work.
The plan in all this, as Christopher Rufo says, is the same everywhere. “The schools have adopted the idea that certain people are “oppressed” as their way of changing student values. It is carried out through a curriculum of critical race theory, and enforced by counselors within schools, through what is generally called ‘equity and social-justice’ programs. In short, they have begun to replace education with political indoctrination. We cannot let propaganda destroy our schools as has happened elsewhere.
Yes. This is the entire purpose of DEI. They claim people should be rewarded for their “identity” not for their ability. DEI is corrosive, rejecting the belief of “equality of opportunity” in favor of an unrealistic view of “equity of condition,” where everyone gets the same no matter what their ability is or their work ethic. DEI is the foundation of modern Socialist theory using race as a catalyst for identity politics instead of social class differences as in traditional Socialism.
Yes. The core of DEI rejects each citizens’ equality before the law which has existed since the passing of the Civil Rights Acts in the 1960’s. DEI substitutes a rewards system based on a set of preferred identities. To do this, DIE says that certain people are victims, and should be paid by everyone else who is not in the “victim group.” This rejects the idea of the value and dignity of each and every person due because of quality of character, effort, and natural ability to excel. Striving for excellence has always characterized America. DEI relies on forced indoctrination of children by teaching from texts filled with falsehoods and slanted information about American history. DEI rejects intellectual engagement and wholesome discussion in the marketplace of ideas about our common values of citizenship in favor of a narrow, biased, anti-American viewpoint that America is totally flawed because of past practices. DEI neglects to mention the many great achievements and practices that have made America great. DEI doesn’t deal with a fair and balanced account of American history, DEI is biased and propagandistic with political motives.
Yes. A core aim of DEI is to indoctrinate students and treat the public school system as a recruiting ground for their political indoctrination. This is described as predatory behavior by preying on innocent children who don’t understand the full context but depend on the teacher to be honest and balanced. Not all teachers promote DEI, but many do. It is the right of the parent to know if this is going on.
Yes. DEI’s essence is to create feelings of being a victim for some, where the supposed victims are encouraged to view themselves only as deserving to be paid for the supposed “wrongs” done to them. Those who are not approved victims are to be shamed, and feel shame, especially if they reject the lies and indoctrination of DEI. Many times, school administrations illegally refuse to assist students who are the targets of such attacks.
CRT is a far-left attempt to replace Marxist class conflict, which has always failed in history, with racial conflict. As scholar Christopher Rufo puts it, the proponents of Critical Race Theory “seek to essentially deconstruct all of the principles around the Western canon of law, around rationality itself, around objectivity, around science, around math, they want to essentially destroy all of those to reveal what they believe is the essence, which is a kind of racial power struggle.” Moreover, they believe “that the United States was founded on racism, slavery and oppression, and that our constitutional structure, the words of the [United States] Declaration [of Independence], and even the law as it exists today are merely a cover story for racial oppression and dominance hegemony.” This makes CRT distorted, biased, and political; not educational.
No. This is false. It is told to fool people into accepting CRT/DEI, by attacking as unkind anyone who dares to disagree. In fact, we have seen CRT/DEI proponents regularly try to intimidate anyone who opposes them. Many who have been brave enough to stand up have been attacked in what is called the “cancel culture”.
No. Claims of “safety” are a cover-up for CRT/DEI activities. They define any opposition to their indoctrination as the cause of being “unsafe.” This is exactly the opposite of safety. We should instead focus on academic excellence, and if any student has a real safety problem, including those caused by harassment by CRT/DEI proponents, our system has long-established procedures for dealing with such problems.
Yes, at the very highest levels. They hide their participation by using the word “cultural competency,” which is simply a synonym for DEI/CRT, along with SEL. The IDOE has set up an entire web page to advertise their participation in indoctrinating our children, which can be found here. Katie Jenner, the Secretary of Education, is responsible for this; you can find her contact information on our Resource page. And here you can find a long list of state-level indoctrination materials, including use of material from a recognized hate group, the so-called “Southern Poverty Law Center.”
No. We should focus, primarily, on challenging our students to excel. What matters is what parents want, which will also take into consideration any “special” student needs the parents feel should be addressed. Parents know what is best for their children, and children are raised by parents, not vice versa. JCSC must ensure that parental control is the constant goal. Parents should always be informed and approve of what is happening with their children
Yes. They admit it openly, and celebrate their racism. If you have more time, look at the videos they post, using all the typical code words and making false claims of nonexistent “implicit bias, “systemic racism, “white privilege,” and so on. These terms are prevalent throughout the site. These terms have no historic validity and are “manufactured” in a propagandistic culture focused on controlling formation of values in young people and others in society as well. The IDOE relies heavily on, and endorses, overt racists such as Ibram X. Kendi. IDOE makes official statements in these videos, such as justifying their radical indoctrination by claiming that “The curriculum we already have in school is an indoctrination into white supremacy.” Because of the passage of the Civil Rights Acts of the 1960’s, white supremacy, systemic racism, and implicit bias, are inherently illegal and can be punished by the Federal Department of Justice if there were actual instances of this type of behavior.
No, it is the opposite. SEL springs from the same root as CRT, and is an attempt to create trauma in children, then blame parents for the trauma, and offer the “solution” of rejecting parental guidance and ethics. There are legitimate needs for student counseling, but these should always be preceded by informed parental consent. It is yet another poisonous attempt to indoctrinate children with their ideology. These programs call into question Parental authority to teach their children morality. These programs have been used to prepare children emotionally to be recruited for deviant types of lifestyles. Below are three videos. The first is an official Indiana Department of Education video, admitting their plans to use SEL for indoctrination. The second is an explanation of SEL by those who write the programs; it explains itself. And the third exposes why SEL is so destructive to our children.
